#Summary of the Poem#

The speaker of the poem ‘Truth’ is Barrie Wade. The poet is
addressing this poem to the readers. The poet says that sticks and stones may
break our bones and skin. But the harsh words that we use trouble a lot.

The poet compares words with slant and curved sword which
pierces us deeply. The things like bats and bricks may hurt us physically but
the harsh words that we use hurt our emotions deeply.

Our physical injury can be healed easily but the scars due
to hard words on our mind.and heart are very delicate and remains forever. So
we should use words carefully while speaking.
